With the holidays approaching, Pure Barre has decided to bring together a few of your favorite things, a group workout and locally brewed pints.
This Saturday Pure Barre will host an abbreviated pop-up class at Parish Brewing Co. in Broussard.
The class will be set to music, last between 35 to 40 minutes and the barre portion of the class will be foregone since there are none at the brewery.
Laura Domingue-Rafferty opened the Lafayette location of Pure Barre in the summer of 2015 after moving back to the area with her husband, Peter, and since then has hosted several pop-ups at local businesses.
Domingue-Rafferty said, “We love pop-ups for a few reasons. First, it’s fun for our clients to take a class in a different setting where we can all hangout after the event. Second, you have to use more of your balance because we won’t have the barre, so it offers a different experience from what we do in the studio. Third, it’s a great way to get our name out in the community and partner with other locally owned businesses.”
Domingue-Rafferty works to support other local businesses so the partnership with Parish Brewery for the event seemed like a natural fit.
“Corey Ball is a client of ours and she handles marketing at Parish Brewery, so we thought it would be a fun idea to create an event where everyone could come to class and drink a beer afterwards. It’s always fun to do events with other business owners who care so much about the local community.”
For those who have never tried Pure Barre you can expect to get a taste of the workout that uses isometric movements to tone you all over.
Additionally, the event offers a casual way to introduce a friend or significant other to Pure Barre.
Domingue-Rafferty said, “All are welcome, and this is a great event for those who are new to barre. We can’t wait to lift, tone and burn with everyone at Parish Brewery.”
The class costs $5 which covers a pint of beer, which includes a choice between Canebrake, Envie or South Coast.
Participants should plan to bring themselves, their yoga mats and IDs.
The event will take place this Sat., Dec. 3 at 11 a.m., and participants should plan to arrive 15 minutes before class begins, at 10:45 a.m.
After class, a tour of the brewery will be given at 12 p.m.
